Severn Bridge tolls rise in 2009

The cost for car drivers crossing both Severn Bridges from South Gloucestershire to Wales is to increase by 20p from January 2009.

The cost for a car will go up to £5.50. Small goods vehicles and buses the cost will rise 50p to £11.10.

Heavy goods vehicles and buses will cost £16.60, up from £15.90. Severn River Crossings said prices were in line with the Severn Bridges Act 1992.

The new tolls are to be confirmed by a Parliamentary Order made in December.
