Road work stops for long weekend

Work on a £10m road improvement scheme on the A40 in Gloucestershire is to be stopped over the bank holiday weekend.

Work will resume on Tuesday 26 August on the A40 between Over and Highnam, the Highways Agency has said.

Drainage work and safety barrier renewal work are being carried out on the dual carriageway.

A spokesman said: "Completion on the eastbound carriageway has been programmed to coincide with the start of the August bank holiday."
