Leaflets put abbey in wrong place

Tewkesbury Abbey
Tourism bosses said a new print run would be released soon

Tewkesbury tourist information leaflets have had to be reprinted after the originals showed the town's abbey on the wrong side of the road.

The promotional pamphlets were being handed out at the tourist information centre before the error was spotted.

Manager Julie Wood said only a small number were produced and a new print run would be released soon.

"It's one of those things I'm afraid, sometimes when you are proofing, you're almost too close," she said.

"There are no plans to move the abbey, it's literally a dot in the wrong place."

Efforts were stepped up to revive tourism in Tewkesbury after the town was swamped by flood water last July.
