Leaflets are available from council offices, libraries and doctors' surgeries

A poster and leaflet campaign aimed at preventing homelessness in parts of Gloucestershire has been launched.

Tewkesbury Borough Council said more people who were experiencing difficulty paying their mortgage or rent had been approaching the council.

Spokeswoman Val Smith said free and confidential advice was available to anyone in the borough regardless of their personal circumstances.

"We may be able to find a way to help them remain in their home," she said.

Ms Smith added: "People who are concerned that they may lose their home for any reason should seek advice as soon as possible.

"Our team is able to offer support, advice and practical solutions to try to ensure people don't find themselves without a roof over their heads."

The leaflets are available from council offices, information points, community centres, libraries and doctors' surgeries.
